Project Ethos
Role : Art Director
Art Direction
I had the incredible opportunity to help launch 31st Union from the ground up, while simultaneously taking on the role of Art Director for our flagship project, Project Ethos. This was more than just another game – we set out to build something that would push boundaries and create a compelling world that players would want to play in and stay.
Our vision was ambitious: we wanted our visuals to support and enhance the gameplay experience, not just look pretty on screen. Working with an exceptionally talented team of artists, designers, and engineers, I helped establish the artistic direction from our diverse cast of characters to the expansive world they inhabited.
Leading the art direction meant making countless decisions about tone, style, and atmosphere while ensuring everything served the players’ experiences and needs. The collaborative process was intense but rewarding – bouncing ideas off designers, refining concepts with artists, and constantly asking ourselves how each visual choice would impact gameplay.
Being part of building a new studio and crafting our creative vision for Project Ethos was challenging but incredibly fulfilling.
Below are some of the materials we released during our community playtest. And while the game hasn’t been released yet, I’m proud of the team that we’ve built and the progress that we’ve made on the project!
